Home/Drone
Aerial footage shot by our own licensed operator, on an Autel EVO 2 at 6K, and graded to match the rest of the production. Kansas City, and anywhere else the shot is.

The footage
Kansas City photographs well from the air, and most of it has never been seen that way. Two minutes of what the drone actually brings back.
What we shoot
Aerials earn their place when the ground camera cannot tell the story. These are the four cases where that is usually true.
The establishing shot a ground camera cannot get: the building, the site, the city around it. Cut into a spot or a brand film, it is the frame that sets the scale of everything after it.
Expansive views and detailed progress shots that show the scale and the intricacy of a build, flown to the same framing each visit so the sequence actually reads as progress.
Corporate events, festivals and large gatherings from above, where the size of the crowd is the story and no other camera position tells it.
Products shown from angles that are otherwise impossible, and locations introduced the way an audience would arrive at them.
The kit
One drone, one licensed operator, and footage that has to cut together with everything else shot that day.
A 6K imaging drone, flown by our own licensed operator.
Crystal-clear stills and 6K video, graded to match the rest of the shoot.
We travel for the shot; most work is inside the metro, none of it has to be.
How it runs
Three stages, and the airspace check happens before a date is agreed rather than on the morning.
We check the airspace for the location and agree what the drone has to deliver — the shots, the time of day, and what happens if the weather does not cooperate.
The drone is one camera among several, not a separate shoot. Aerials are planned into the schedule so the day gets both the ground coverage and the air.
Footage is graded with the rest of the production and delivered in every format the piece runs on, rather than handed over as raw clips.
Where it pays
Aerials are not equally useful everywhere. These three ask for them more than anyone else, and for different reasons.
An aerial view of a property makes a listing more attractive, and more honest about the plot, the approach and what is around it.
Aerial shots of corporate events, festivals and large gatherings, where the scale of the room is the point.
Wind farms and solar arrays photographed in a way that is both detailed and legible — installations that are difficult to show at all from the ground.
Questions
Cost first, because it is the question everybody actually opens with.
It depends on the flight time, the location, and whether the aerials are part of a larger shoot or a job of their own. Aerials booked into a production day cost far less than a separate visit. Tell us the location and what the footage has to show, and we quote it properly, in writing, before anything is booked.
Capturing stills and video from the air using an unmanned aircraft, flown by an operator on the ground. It reaches camera positions that would otherwise need a crane, a helicopter or a neighboring rooftop.
Movement and vantage point. A drone can start on a detail and pull back to the whole site in one unbroken move, which is the shot that makes a location feel real to someone who has never stood in it.
Yes. Kansas City ordinances add no specific restrictions on drone use, though obstructing airspace at city airports is prohibited. We check the airspace for each location before the flight is scheduled.
It is one of the clearest uses. An aerial establishes the plot, the approach and the surroundings in a single frame, which photographs taken at ground level cannot do.
An Autel EVO 2 shooting 6K, flown by our own licensed operator. The footage is graded alongside the rest of the production so the aerials match the ground coverage.
Yes, where the scale is part of the story: a festival, a large corporate event, an opening. For a small indoor event it adds nothing, and we will say so.
That is the normal case. The flight plan comes from what the footage has to do, so a construction progress sequence and a one-off brand film are scheduled quite differently.
Let’s talk
Send us the outline and we will come back with next steps. If it is only the stage you need, say so.
